Lesson Aim:

  • To help the children understand and recall the order in which God created the world.
  • To demonstrate God’s unequalled creative power.

Game 1: Water & Land Game

Resources

  • A long skipping rope (2m approx.)/ ground marking tape or chalk to mark a line on the ground.
  • Enough space for children to jump from one side of the line to the other.

Set Up

  • Place the skipping rope on the ground in a straight line. If possible tape the ends in place.
  • Place toy fish or a blue sheet of paper with “Water” written on it, on one side of the rope and a brown sheet of paper with “Land” written on it or bucket of sand on the other. (This step it not necessary but will help the children understand the game.)

Rules

  1. The teacher will call the word “water” or “land” and the children must jump over the skipping rope to the appropriate side. The teacher can call the words quickly or slowly or repeat the same word just to be tricky!
  2. If any of the children are caught on the wrong side of the skipping rope they will be caught out. (Children who are out may like to take turns calling.)

 Game 2: Find the Animal

Resources

  • 2 blindfolds
  • Pairs of toy animals

Set Up

  • Prepare 2 blindfolds and separate the animals into two piles. Ensure each pile has one of the pair of animals in each pile.

Rules

  1. Split the children into 2 teams.
  2. Sit one team in a circle around 1 pile of animals and the other team in a circle around the other pile.
  3. Blindfold a person from each team.
  4. The teacher must call out the name of one of the animals in the pile and the blindfolded child must find it. Team mates can help the blindfolded child by verbally directing them to the correct animal. The first team to find the correct animal is the winner.

Lyrics

C’mon everybody are you ready to sing?
Jesus is the way, He’s my everything
Every single moment of every single day
There’s something deep within me I just gotta say
I’’m gonna praise You Lord every day of my life
You give me freedom and it makes me shout
It makes me get up and dance!
Get up and dance
C’mon everybody are you ready to sing?
Jesus is the way, He’’s my everything
Every single moment of every single day

There’s something deep within me I just gotta say
I’m gonna praise You Lord every day of my life
You give me freedom and it makes me shout
It makes me get up and dance!
Get up and dance
( Rap)
I’m gonna praise You Lord every day of my life
You give me freedom and it makes me shout
It makes me get up and dance!
Get up and dance
I’m gonna praise You Lord every day of my life
You give me freedom and it makes me shout
It makes me get up and dance!
Get up and dance
Get up and dance
Get up and dance
Get up and dance
